Do it yourself abstract art

Do you have unused canvases laying around in a closet somewhere? Or maybe you have a piece of art from a wine and paint party that doesn’t match your current decor.  My mom wanted to change the color scheme in her living room. I couldn’t watch her get rid of this perfectly good canvas so instead I took it to created some abstract art to match her new pillows.

This canvas had a frame already attached, so I used some painters tape along the frame so I could prime the whole canvas with white acrylic paint.

After the white was dry I painted the whole canvas using acrylic paint that matched the color scheme of my mom’s living room.

TADA!  Let the whole thing dry and remove the painters tape and it is all ready to hang!
